Suzuki unveils a super roadster designed for virtual raceways

The Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo was co-developed with Polyphony Digital exclusively for the racing video game named Gran Turismo 7. Here’s what it brings to the table.

The car has a spider body and comes powered by a 1.3-liter gasoline four-pot assisted by a single electric motor on the rear axle and two more motors on the front axle. The resulting output makes 432 PS (426 hp / 318 kW) and 610 Nm (450 lb-ft) of torque. Since all parameters are virtual and unrestrained by real-world hurdles like EV battery weight, Suzuki claims the whole car weighs in at just 970 kilos (2,140 lbs). The acceleration performance remains to be revealed, though.

The exterior of the design study resembles that of the latest Swift Sport hatchback, complete with a similar-looking grille and headlamp bezels. However, the spider features a much more sophisticated body kit.

Porsche and Jaguar presented their video game prototype racers earlier this year, too.
