Suzuki Across gets refreshed after Toyota RAV4

Suzuki Across will be entering the next model year with the same scope of updates as its twin sibling, the Toyota RAV4.

Aside from the badges and some smaller details, the cars are essentially one and the same. The new Across gets a 10.5-inch infotainment display instead of the usual 9-inch one while getting rid of all hardware controls except the volume knob. Apple CarPlay is now wireless, but Android Auto users still have to use cords. Integrated offline navigation software has been added.

The instrument cluster with its analog gauges and a 7-inch display in the middle is a thing of the past now. In its most basic spec, the car now ships with a 12.3-inch fully digital dashboard supporting various skins and display modes.

Things stay stock under the hood. Powering the Across is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated Toyota engine partnered up with two electric motors for a total of 306 PS (302 hp / 225 kW). An 18.1-kWh battery pack delivers enough juice for 75 km (46 miles) of all-electric range, the manufacturer claims.

When the RAV4 facelift premiered this summer, it did so with voice command support and enhanced electronic assists. While Suzuki didn’t mention these, the Across probably got the same updates.

Starting from €58,200 in Germany, the Across is the marque’s most expensive vehicle on that market.
