While Ford is getting a new generation of its retro SUV Bronco ready to rumble, Japanese tuner DAMD is offering a body kit that can make the latest Suzuki Jimny look just like the Bronco.
The unique appearance of the Japanese compact SUV has already made it the target of multiple stylistic conversions. Tuners have already restyled it to look like a downsized Land Rover Defender and Mercedes G-Class. The Bronco kit, aptly named ‘Dronco’, will be exhibited at the Tokyo Auto Salon starting tomorrow.
The package includes a new radiator grille, metallic bumpers, small-ish wheel arch extensions, chromed side moldings, a small ladder in the back, and, of course, the signature paintwork.
Another DAMD kit scheduled for Tokyo reveal is called The Roots, and it turns the latest-gen Jimny into its spiritual ancestor from the year 1970: the Suzuki LJ10. The differences with the Dronco kit boil down to a different grille, less chrome, and the mirror caps and rear bumper painted to match the car body.
Both packages will become available for purchase in Japan sometime in 2020.
