An authorized Suzuki dealership in New Zealand now offers a ute conversion of the Jimny, with the truck bed sitting in the place of the rear half of the cabin, only leaving enough room for two people.
The conversion is approved by the manufacturer and comes with the OEM warranty. Unusually enough, it comes based on the low-end trim version known as JX. The JX spec includes halogen headlamps, stamped wheels and five-speed manual transmission, and is missing such niceties as the touch-sensitive infotainment system, climate control, or leather seats.
The standard 1.5-liter non-turbo engine churns out 102 hp (76 kW) and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) of torque. The carrying and towing capacity numbers aren’t available, and the conversion costs the equivalent of U.S. $7,300.
