The new emission limitations imposed upon EU countries since 2021 make it impossible for Suzuki to sell its compact SUV Jimny there anymore, the company reports.
Meanwhile, the car enjoys a steady market demand throughout Europe, with 16,605 units sold there in 2019 – a 50% bump from 2017.
The Suzuki Jimny ships with a 1.5-liter petrol engine as the only option. Its average CO2 emissions amount to 154 g/km with manual transmission and rise to 170 g/km with automatic. Starting in 2021, this indicator will have to stay below 95 g/km measured among all cars sold by the brand.
Great Britain was the first to act, the dealerships there no longer taking orders for the Jimny.
