The Jimny makes a comeback in Europe following a short period of absence due to failed emission tests – but mind that you do not mislabel it as “SUV”. It is “light commercial vehicle”, thank you very much.
The new Jimny LCV only has two seats and packs a spacious 863-liter trunk compartment. The passenger version has four seats and 830 liters of luggage space. A new grate in the cabin separates people from cargo.
The model still holds onto its 1.5-liter non-turbo engine worth 102 hp (75 kW) and 130 Nm (95 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission is five-speed manual, and AWD with reduction gear are present as well.
In case you haven’t realized it by now, the redesign is an obvious move by Suzuki to avoid fines due to excessive CO2 emissions.
