With the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz around, most of those in the market for a light and compact pickup have their needs covered. But neither is available in the UK at the moment, which is why Samson Engineering Limited converted the Suzuki Jimny into one.
The company takes the third generation of the Jimny as the starting point and ends up with a stylish-looking and practical pickup truck capable of carrying up to 500 kg (1,100 lbs) of cargo and towing up to 750 kg (1,650 lbs). Multiple trim levels are available.
The upgrade sees the Jimny lose its stock brakes for upmarket rotor ones, get adjustable shocks and various chassis reinforcements for intense off-road use. A 50mm (2-inch) suspension lift rounds things off for even more soft-road performance.
