3rd-gen Suzuki Jimny retires after 24 years of production

The last Suzuki Jimny assembly line at the Mitsubishi factory in Brazil has stopped, the company states reminding us that the car went out of production in Japan four years ago, as soon as the Mk4 debuted.

Apparently, it was the new, stricter environment preservation standards that forced Suzuki to ditch the outdated model. Making it compliant would have been too costly, too.

As of right now, the only Jimny available in Brazil is the Sierra model exported from Japan.
