Five-door Suzuki Jimny prototype spotted running naked in India

Car spies have tracked down a non-camouflaged Suzuki Jimny during an ad shoot in India. Rushlane believes the official premiere will take place in early 2023.

The front and rear stay largely the same, while the profile view reveals that the front doors retain their normal width. Car companies often shorten the front doors when adding another pair at the back, but this does not seem to be the case with the new Jimny.

Earlier patent applications stated that the car was 3,850 mm long with 2,550 mm of wheelbase, an extra 300 mm compared to stock. The original Jimny ships with a 1.5-liter engine, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see the five-door version to go on sale as a 48V mild hybrid.

All-wheel drive and the choice between manual and automatic transmission should remain available. What little can be seen of the cabin suggests it is still unchanged. Rushlane suggests that the model may ship as a five-seater with an optional third row.
