The petite Suzuki Jimny is a capable off-roader, but it is hardly a fast highway driver – unless you have tuners like Rainbow Auto at your side ready to break the mold.
The tuning project was completed just in time for the tenth anniversary of Attack Tsukuba, and for the first time on record, the racing event was attended by a whole fleet of lowered Jimny SUVs running on racing slicks. Each had powerful turbos installed, serious intercoolers and robust safety cages, but the creation of Rainbow Auto proved downright the fastest.
There isn’t much revealed about the inner workings of the car, but we do know that those Rays wheels shod in Advan rubber were installed on the front axle using multiple spacers to increase stability and improve cornering. The rear wheels were given a much shorter span.
The interior was stripped clean of everything not strictly necessary for racing, and a Momo wheel made it inside along with a single bucket seat and a racing harness. We were unable to find any powertrain specifics, but you can immediately tell this Jimny is no stock car.
