Nathan Paykin, from Australia, spontaneously decided to build an adult-sized replica of the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe, which is basically a big toy car for toddlers to get their bearings. He procured a used Suzuki Swift for around 350 USD and turned it into something certifiably insane.
The tiny hatchback lost its rear doors in the process along with much of the chassis, ending up with all-new bodywork in eye-catching red and yellow. Although the panels are apparently still metal, they were painted with a special kind of paint to look like cheap plastic. White wheels complemented the look nicely.
The standard engine continued its duty under the hood, giving the microcar 80 horsepower (60 kilowatts) or so. We don’t know the exact version of the engine, but what we do know is that it makes use of a side-exiting exhaust system with a built-in flamethrower. Subtlety is for the weak, Paykin argues.
The result is a surprisingly drivable vehicle that only nosedives when brakes are applied – that short wheelbase is no joke. Paykin admits it isn’t street-legal, and probably never will be: he plans on driving it at Australia’s assorted car meets and shows.
