The Suzuki Vitara entered the market in 2014 and has now received another facelift. The chassis and the powertrains stay the same (they have been revised in earlier updates), but the appearance and the options are new. The manufacturer reasons that the Vitara is expected to continue to sell well in Europe and just needs a moderate touch-up.
Starting with the exterior, there is a new front bumper lacking side inserts and fog lights, but with new vertical DRLs and a large U-shaped centerpiece. The radiator grille also sports a different pattern now, and the headlights look more up-to-date with LEDs inside. Buyers in Europe can choose from more body colors and wheel designs.
The biggest addition inside is a 9-inch infotainment system screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, as well as access to a variety of functions via smartphone. In the electronic assist department, the new version gets adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane control and drowsiness alert.
As usual, the cheapest Suzuki Vitara gets a mild hybrid powertrain based on a 1.4-liter engine rated at 129 PS (127 hp / 95 kW). All higher trims come with a 1.5-liter engine with 102 PS (101 hp / 76 kW) and a six-speed DCT box. An electric motor built into the transmission raises the output to 115 PS (113 hp / 85 kW). Both variants support FWD and AWD.
