Affordable Tesla Model S, Model X no longer available

Tesla will stop processing new orders for Model X and Model S cars equipped with entry-level 75 kWh batteries on Monday, January 14, 2019. The statement stems from Tesla CEO Elon Musk himself.

In his recent Twitter post, Musk advised those who still wanted to get a Tesla vehicle in the base trim version (75D) to contact the nearest dealership until Sunday.

The entire Model S / Model X range will now only ship with the more expensive 100 kWh batteries on board. A Model S liftback will start at U.S. $94,000, while a Model X SUV will begin at U.S. $97,000.

Tesla will be revealing its Model Y mini-SUV and all-electric pickup truck concept later on this year. Neither of the two will reach the market until at least 2020, though.
