This video, which follows a prototype version of the all-electric Tesla Semi truck as it enters the highway speeding away happily, has quickly gone viral on the Internet. Have a look, you’ll get an idea.
A driver of a Tesla Model S 75 D filmed the footage. He said he actually had to go full throttle to catch up with the heavy truck. Indeed, it looks like the truck, despite its massive weight and semitrailer attachment, sprints much better than even the best of its fossil-powered competition, which generally requires at least 30 seconds to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) when fully loaded.
The Tesla Semi truck concept debuted in the fall of 2017. In its production version, it will come equipped with four electric motors, enabling it to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5 seconds flat when empty or 20 seconds when carrying 40 metric tons (88,000 lbs.) of cargo. The manufacturer claims its driving range will amount to an impressive 1,000 kilometers (620 miles).
