Company Ilona Mask Tesla plans to develop a device that allows you to quickly change batteries in electric cars produced under this brand. A corresponding patent application has already been filed.
As follows from the explanatory note to the project, the process of disconnecting a dead battery to a charged one will take no more than 15 minutes. According to the idea of engineers, the car will call in on a device resembling a normal lift in a car repair shop. Then, after raising the car to a sufficient height, a special mechanism will remove the discharged battery, remove it, and then install a fully charged battery. After that, the car falls to the ground and can continue to move. The entire process will be controlled by 1-2 technicians.
An interesting fact is that Tesla already presented to the public the prototype of a device for replacing batteries three years ago. That model generally did without the participation of a person in the process.
The new prototype is compact, and it can be installed anywhere, for example, on a regular gas station.
