Tesla Model S and Model X electric cars on the basis of a hardware platform of the second generation received the updated system of the autopilot (Enhanced Autopilot)
Tesla Motors began the introduction of unmanned systems in October 2016. Unfortunately, the new update will not affect the first-generation cars (HW1), as their technical capabilities do not allow to install the latest version of the autopilot - or this purpose it would be necessary to replace over 300 spare parts.
The new self-drivnng Tesla system has more stable navigation, function of automatic remapping in an intense traffic and notifications of the driver about possible crash by visual and sound signals. Besides, at the driver's command the car will be able to increase maximum permissible speed of 5 miles an hour (8 km/h).
Let's note that, according to the National traffic safety's information, the number of road accident with participation of the Tesla electric vehicles was reduced by 40% after the introduction of the autopilot. The data were published in the course of the investigation of the driver's recent death of self-driving car of American brand.
