All General Motor electric vehicle owners will soon be able to top up their batteries at Tesla Supercharger stations. This concerns both recently made EVs and upcoming ones. The announcement was made by the respective CEOs of the companies, Mary Barra and Elon Musk.
GM will be supplying a special power adapter that will enable the drivers to plug into the Supercharger terminals. Since not all GM models support fast charging, however, the waiting times may be rather big. The corporation plans to equip its upcoming EVs with Tesla-standard plugs straight from the factory to eliminate these issues.
The access to the Supercharger network will open in the spring of 2024, adding more than 12,000 charging locations for GM EV owners to use. All pricing details are unknown.
Aside from the above, GM will add a feature into its mobile apps that will let users to interact with the Supercharger terminals – locate the nearest spots, pay for the services and perform other actions without having to install another third-party app on their devices.
