Tesla to launch its cheapest EV production in Germany

According to InsideEVs quoting Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the electric carmaker plans to produce its most affordable model yet in Germany. The Prices are expected to start below $25,000.

Musk also said that the car would have a much more traditional appearance compared to the company’s latest release, the Cybertruck. At the same time, it will continue to be ‘cool, good-looking and utilitarian.’

Moving forward, Tesla plans to churn out millions of low-end EVs per year. It may involve its existing industrial capacities in China or its newly constructed factory in Mexico to reach targets.

Having said that, it’s already been five years since Musk first mentioned his plans to produce a cheap Tesla EV. Work on an entry-level battery car is mentioned in every quarterly performance report published by the company, but the vehicle itself has yet to be introduced.

In earlier news, media learned that Tesla was looking into opening a branch office in India. The brand’s most affordable car may end up produced in that country, too. At this point, however, the Model 3 pictured below remains the company’s cheapest so far.
