Watch a camera drone tour Tesla’s Gigafactory Berlin for you

Tesla Inc. has just posted a video showing the ins and outs of its industrial complex in Berlin, Germany. The drone footage shows nearly the entire production process from start to finish.

As it flies through the factory, the quadcopter gets inside stamping presses, flies by spray-painting machines and finds its way through empty car hulls. It also focuses on the final assembly process on the main conveyor belt.

The footage lets you get a clear idea about the sheer scale of the factory that cost $5.5 billion to build and about its impressive extent of automation. Even with all these robots around, the Gigafactory Berlin employs 12,500 people to churn out around 1,000 EVs per day, every day.

Earlier this month, the media learned about the factory losing its power supply following a power line fire. It is suspected that a group of eco activists protesting against the industrial site set fire to the power grid. According to Reuters, the disruption it caused ended only a week ago, allowing Tesla to begin a gradual re-launch of the production lines. The losses associated with this blackout haven’t been reported.
