Study finds EVs costlier to repair than ICE cars

A recent study conducted in North America revealed that restoring an electric vehicle after an incident usually costs considerably more than a comparable fuel-powered car of the same class.

We are told that getting an EV back on the road typically costs 20% more in the USA and 31% more in Canada.

In monetary terms, the average ICE car restoration cost in the United States is $4,806. The same value for an EV is $5,753. In Canada, the respective costs are equivalent to U.S. $4,958 and $6,534.
