Scalpers offering Tesla Cyberquad bikes for 10x the price

Less than two weeks ago, Tesla unveiled an electric quadricycle for children aged 8+, named Cyberquad. Buyers swept it off the metaphorical shelves within hours, and now, eBay is full of reseller ads with prices reaching as high as $17,000 USD, nearly ten times the $1,900 MSRP.

Someone else is asking for $12,900, while the average price hovers within the $4,000 – $6,000 range. Some are bold enough to hold auctions for their copies, even though we are pretty sure Tesla never had the time to begin production and deliveries. Knowing the company, the process could take it months. Apparently unperturbed, some of the scalpers promise ‘fast delivery in a few weeks.’

The Cyberquad shares many design cues with a concept motorbike with the same name from two years ago. Unlike that one, however, it is meant for children and not adults. It maxes out at just 16 km/h (10 miles per hour) due to having a rather tame electric motor and can be capped at half that speed for safety and range-saving purposes. When fully charged, it has 24 km (15 miles) of range. Tesla never said whether it was going to make an adult-sized version someday in the future.

Not too long ago, a similar story happened to another Tesla product – the Cyberwhistle, a $50 stainless-steel whistle shaped like the Cybertruck. It also sold out within hours and soon surfaced on reseller platforms with prices reaching as high as $2,500.
