Tesla Cybertruck reveals cabin ahead of schedule

While the Tesla Cybertruck continues being what it must believe is ‘fashionably late’, The Drive has published unofficial photos showing its interior. While still a pre-production design, it looks considerably different from the concept previewed in 2019.

The photos were allegedly made during the demonstration of the new Elkhorn Battery tech in California. The battery uses Tesla cells, so the presenting team invited a Cybertruck over.

Based on the images, the main novelty inside is a standalone dashboard. The first prototype only had a tablet screen in the middle and nothing else. The new design has a bump on the dash panel in front of the driver, which conceals a small screen.

There is also a yoke steering wheel not unlike those of the recent Model S units and a rather bulky-looking armrest between the front seats, which was also missing originally. The seat bases are now shaped more like those of a normal car, and there is an added crease in the dash.

Tesla has postponed the production of the Cybertruck multiple times, despite having numerous pre-orders from several years ago. In April this year, CEO Elon Musk said assembly would finally begin in 2023 along with some other long-anticipated vehicles. It will allegedly take place at the Gigafactory in Austin, Texas.
