Koenigsegg ex-designer comes up with Tesla Cybertruck wheel design

Aftermarket company Unplugged Performance has presented a new set of wheels for the still-to-be-released Tesla Cybertruck (see video). Called UP CYBRHEX, the set was designed by Sasha Selipanov, a renowned designer with background in Bugatti and Koenigsegg.

The company claims that this is the first wheel set designed for the electric truck worldwide. It jokingly adds that they can be used on Earth and on Mars and supplies a number of images showcasing the same honeycomb design on other Teslas.

For his own part, Selipanov points out that the idea stems from his work dating back 15 years, a virtual design study called Pharaoh. The futuristic car was inspired by the ‘cuneiform’ direction of Italian automotive design. He adds that Ben Schaffer, the boss of Unplugged Performance, demanded that every wheel produced be inscribed with Selipanov’s signature.

Pre-orders are already running starting from U.S. $5,992 for the smallest set before any options. The available sizes are from 20 to 22 inches.

Sasha Selipanov’s earlier works include the Bugatti Chiron and Vision Gran Turismo, as well as the Koenigsegg Gemera and CC850. He also headed the European Design HQ of Genesis in the past.
