Unofficial Tesla Cybertruck specs and details leak ahead of production launch

The actual Tesla Cybertruck will be smaller than the concept it is based upon, offer a giant display and not be available with four e-motors, InsideEVs reports citing a shareholder of the company.

Matthew Donegan-Ryan was among the fifty shareholders invited to the Tesla Investor Day and had an opportunity to talk with the execs, so while the info is not official, it does appear to be reliable.

According to his report, the electric pickup is 5% smaller than the concept, which was 5,885 mm (230 inches) long and 2,027 mm (79 inches) wide. As such, it is comparable in size to the Ford F-150 Raptor – slightly shorter and narrower, but with a bed that’s 150 mm (roughly 6 inches) longer.

The latter is accomplished thanks to an optimized cab layout: the all-electric Cybertruck has a shorter hood than most ICE pickups do and keeps its cabin closer to the front end to free up more space in the back. This also means it offers more cabin space than the Ford, although the three-seat front bench is no longer present in the production version.

As for the head unit, the display measures 18.5 inches corner-to-corner, making it the largest in the Tesla lineup. There is no dashboard in the conventional sense, and the steering wheel looks like a cross between the Model S yoke and the traditional round wheel.

In its most basic trim level, the Cybertruck will feature air-ride suspension, 4WS and two electric motors. The top spec will utilize three motors, just like the Model S Plaid. The company apparently decided not to produce the quad-motor version it had announced before, but it might debut later on if the sales go well.
