The Tesla CEO dedicated a recent tweet to his company’s Texas factory where he had spent several hours walking around and examining the Cybertruck production line.
“Gonna be awesome!” the businessman concluded. “Feels like the future”, he added shortly after. The exact availability date of the electric pickup once again went unmentioned.
The fact that Musk chose to spend several hours at the site, however, could be a serious indication that the assembly lines are about to start very soon. In his earlier statements, Musk promised to begin the production in summer, but only in small quantities. Full-scale manufacturing was set to begin in 2024.
One of Tesla shareholders revealed several days ago that the production Cybertruck would retain a large central display like the concept version had, with its diagonal size just a little bit smaller than originally proposed. He added that there would be no quad-motor powertrain at launch, but air-ride suspension and four-wheel steering would both be included in the main spec.
