Tesla has published technical documents in Great Britain according to which it will soon begin installing V4 charging terminals at its Supercharger sites.
According to the Reddit post pointing to the documents, these new stations are rated at 350 kW and thus supply more power that any Tesla EV currently in production can take advantage of.
Specifically, the current Supercharger standard tops out at V3, which outputs 324 kW under optimal conditions. In theory, raising the maximum power will shorten the wait times. Aside from that, all V4 terminals will be easily recognizable thanks to their different appearance and longer cables. They will first appear in Swindon, England, where Tesla Inc. has been expanding its charger network lately.
CarBuzz points out that no existing Tesla car can take advantage of a 350-kilowatt charger. Still, as the automaker keeps expanding its lineup, such cars may soon appear. The long-anticipated Cybertruck could be one example.
