McDonalds dedicates a spoon to the Tesla Cybertruck in China

On the off-chance that you are not tired of Tesla Cybertruck hype, the controversial EV maker teamed up with McDonalds in China to launch a… brushed-steel spoon. You can already order it via the McDonalds app.

During the CyberSpoon promo event (there was one), the companies happily sold everyone McFlurry ice cream in tubs shaped like the Cybertruck pickup (see video).

As if the rest weren’t wacky enough, Elon Musk himself apparently had no idea about the promo taking place, so he dismissed it as a fake on his Twitter. When the Chinese branch of Tesla reached out to him, he backed up and said he would like to get a spoon like that, too.

Coming in at 30 Chinese Yuan, the CyberSpoon is made from stainless steel and has the same sharp edges as the electric truck. It has the words ‘Don’t Panic’ etched into the handle – a possible Douglas Adams reference, or maybe a way for the company to tell its customers not too worry too much about the production schedule being wildly off.

Only 50,000 such spoons will be made. The promo event will continue in China until September 26, 2023.
