As you may have heard by now, Tesla has submitted a trademark application in the United States for a fitness equipment item called ‘Cyberhammer’. Electrek supposes it could be yet another Cybertruck-themed accessory for brand fans – not necessarily those of a sporty persuasion, either.
Some CrossFit exercises involve the use of a special training sledgehammer. Tesla could easily produce one with a head shaped like its weird futuristic truck. If so, it could also be interpreted as the company’s ironic attempt to get back at itself for a failed 2019 presentation. Back then, a presenter hit the Cybertruck door with a sledgehammer – it withstood the impact – but then smashed the allegedly bulletproof window with a steel ball. The company explained later that the glass might have been weakened from the original impact, but never provided any conclusive proof.
It remains unknown when or even whether the fitness accessory may go on sale. Tesla Inc. has a history of releasing goofy car-themed merchandise, though – a Cybertruck-shaped whistle came out in 2021, followed by a similar-looking wireless charging pad a year later. It also launched a beer bottle collection named Gigabeer in Europe, inspired by the same EV.
