Tesla Cybertruck anti-EMP tent should make Judgment Day preppers happy

MOS Equipment, a California-based company specializing in a range of shielding and screening solutions united under the Mission Darkness brand, has unveiled a rather bizarre option for the Tesla Cybertruck. It can both prevent its owner’s private info from getting stolen and the truck’s electronics from getting fried in a nuclear EMP attack.

Called the Mission Darkness Cybercylent EMP Faraday Car Cover, the accessory comes in at a cool $15,000. It is a large rectangular tent with a carbon-fiber frame and conductive cloth lining known as the TitanRF Faraday Fabric. Copper and nickel additives in the weave let it screen the insides from all kinds of electromagnetic impulses caused by natural phenomena or human weaponry, such as atomic bombs. At the same time, the tent completely disrupts all WiFi connectivity at both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, Bluetooth and cell phone networks, and radio waves ranging from a few MHz all the way up to 40 GHz.

In practice, this means the Cybertruck will be reliably protected against all forms of electronic espionage, but you won’t be able to access it remotely or update its software over the air.

The company notes that the tent is supposed to be used exclusively in dry, ventilated indoor areas sufficiently far from any electric power sources. The material it’s made of catches fire easily and the copper is prone to oxidization. Starting the Cybertruck inside the tent is only allowed if you intend to drive out of it at once, otherwise it might get damaged.

The Cybercylent EMP Faraday Car Cover will not be mass-produced, but those interested are welcome to leave a pre-order and expect delivery in five-six weeks. Owners of other vehicles can also get a similar tent in their desired size.
