The most affordable Tesla Model 3 trim called Standard Range has launched today with a starting price tag of just $36,200 in the United States.
The Standard Range Model 3 offers up to 220 miles (354 kilometers) of driving until charging becomes necessary. If this is slightly below your expectations, consider the Range Plus version that promises 240 miles (386 km) instead.
The entry model takes 5.6 seconds to sprint 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) and tops out at 130 mph (209 km/h). The Plus version accomplishes the standard sprint in 5.3 secs and maxes out at 140 mph (225 km/h).
The car normally ships with adjustable seats and steering wheel, fabric upholstery and a basic sound system. The Standard Range Plus trim packs heated front seats, leather trimming, a better sound system, and anti-fog headlights. The Autopilot feature will set you back another $3,000 in its basic form or $5,000 if you want the extended version.
Tesla had previously announced it would no longer be offering Model S / Model X variants with the smaller 75 kWh battery. As such, both cars now ship with larger 100 kWh batteries on board, no options provided.
