You can go a long way
with a Tesla Model 3, something this latest video from Bjørn Nyland just goes
to demonstrate. The car aficionado has managed to cover a whopping 2,781
kilometers (1,728 miles) in a single day, driving with the average speed of 115
km/h (71.4 mph) and setting a world record for the longest range achieved on a
battery EV.
Nyland started his
trip in Germany. He abided by all the traffic regulations and never sped past
the legal limit. He planned his route so that most of it went along autobahns,
where the authorized top speed is 170 km/h (105 mph).
Nyland also opted
for Ionity rapid charging stations, arguing that they replenished the battery
of his car much faster than Tesla’s own Supercharger stations did.
The specific car used was a
Tesla Model 3 Long Range, which ships with an all-wheel drive by default. It
offers around 500 kilometers (310 miles) of range once fully charged. To compare,
the regular Model 3 only has 420 km (261 mi) of range.
