IIHS awards the Tesla Model 3 top safety scores across the board

U.S.-based Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has published the results of a series of crash tests it conducted with the Tesla Model 3. For the first time on record, the car has topped every category, albeit not without caveats.

According to the official research results, a head-on collision presents a moderate danger of left shin injury for the driver, caused by the wrecked car front being pushed farther inside the cabin along with the pedals. Aside from that, all tests had excellent outcomes.

Following the publication, the Tesla Model 3 was entered into the Top Safety Pick+ ranking, claiming a position at the top the list. This is the second time an EV makes it into the list.
