For Archie Hamilton, popular British racing driver and social media star, fitting an EV with a sound imitation module is a no-brainer. Not only is it safer, it is also way more fun!
A couple days ago, he uploaded a video showing off his bespoke Tesla Model 3 Performance equipped with an Active Sound V2 mod by Milltek Sport. The speaker is remotely controlled via phone and currently supports up to eight different exhaust sound presets, notably including ‘Lamborghini’.
From the technical point of view, the implementation is rather simple. A stainless-steel frame is added at the bottom of the car, and a carbon-trimmed loudspeaker is put inside the frame. The hardware inside is configured to produce a variety of exhaust sounds based on the current traveling speed and electric motor RPM.
And what do you think? Is it a cool upgrade or rather an inevitable evil?
