Tesla will soon be updating the software in its Model 3 sedans around the world, further optimizing power consumption and slightly increasing the available range.
No long ago, the EV maker has switched to using new batteries raising the capacity from 77 to 82 kWh while preserving the same physical dimensions. Customers are currently receiving cars fitted with old and new batteries alike, with no certain way to choose.
Tesla never mentioned specific range gains from using the optimized software. EPA continues testing EVs every year and points out that Tesla keeps improving its statistics all the time.
