Tesla Model 3 becomes the world’s most googled EV

Internet users search information about the Tesla Model 3 more often than any other electric car, PartCatalog reports citing the results of own survey.

The second and third positions are also held by Tesla vehicles, but the difference between first and third is quite dramatic at around one million search queries per month.

Specifically, 2.24 million users searched for the Model 3 every month in 2021 on average. 1.5 million wanted information on the Model S, and 1.22 million each were interested in models X and Y. The parts seller explains that the likely reason is how popular Tesla is as a brand and how affordable the Model 3 is compared to the rest of the lineup.

Further down the list are premium Volkswagen Group vehicles: the Audi e-tron and the Porsche Taycan, each with 1 million monthly queries. The VW ID.4, Kia EV6, Ioniq 5 and Polestar 2 follow next, the latter three nearly on par with around 673,000 queries each.

PartCatalog also drew up a top-5 list of most searched EV makers: Tesla, Rivian, Nio, Polestar and Rimac made it into the list in that specific order. However, if Tesla attracted over 11 million searches per month, Rivian and Nio lagged behind with only 1 million each.
