Tesla drops U.S. prices across the board again

Tesla has once again revised its pricing in the United States following a report stating that the company fell short of its planned sales target.

In Q1 2023, Tesla delivered 422,875 EVs worldwide, a year-on-year increase of 36%. However, CEO Elon Musk had targeted a 50% increase. The company never revealed how many units it sold in the USA specifically, but Cox Automotive reports 180,993 units based on its own data.

The price revision that ensued left the low-end Model 3 $1,000 cheaper than before at $43,630 with the delivery fee included. The Model 3 Performance with a Panasonic battery pack also shed $1,000 and now starts from $54,630.

The Model Y SUV now costs $2,000 less in Long Range and Performance flavors: $54,630 and $58,630, respectively. There is also a new version of it available for $51,630, which offers 449 km (279 miles) of EPA-rated range. The Long Range spec offers 531 km (330 miles).

Finally, the range-topping Model S and Model X lost $5,000 each and now start from $86,630 and $96,630, respectively.
