Tesla Model 3 keeps going on reportedly dead batteries

A curious video by popular U.S. blogger Miles Branman (MilesPerHr) has recently been met with renewed interest towards Elon Musk’s graceful all-electric vehicles. Miles has tried to see just how much farther his Tesla Model 3 would be able to go once the remaining mileage counter hits zero (or whether it would do that at all).

In the beginning of the video, the car reports around 10 mi (16 km) remaining driving range. It proceeds to decrement the number until it reaches zero… and then just keeps going. Miles said that his Tesla Model 3 was able to travel another three or so miles (5 km) to the nearest charging station without problem.

Furthermore, the only thing that switched itself off upon ‘full’ discharge was the collision warning system. The remaining equipment continued as if nothing extraordinary happened.
