Tesla CEO Elon Musk has finally revealed the prices of the dual-engine Tesla Model 3 range. Just as expected, the lowest offers start above U.S. $50,000.
If you would like a high-end Tesla Model 3 Performance, be prepared to shell out U.S. $78,000. At just $54,000, a regular Dual Motor AWD is 25 percent cheaper than that one.
The entire Dual series comes with asynchronously working front-axle engines – the same kind that ships with the Model X and the Model S, to be exact. The top specification includes 20” specialty wheels, a carbon rear wing and high-contrast interior trimming. The autopilot costs an additional $5,000.
Elon Musk said the main rival of the Tesla Model 3 Performance is the BMW X3. While similarly priced, the Tesla reportedly has 15 percent better steering responsiveness and acceleration performance.
The first twin-engine Tesla Model 3 vehicles are scheduled to roll off the assembly lines this summer. Owners of Long Range and Premium Upgrades cars may opt for a short and simple procedure during which their vehicles will be retrofitted with two engines.
