European Tesla Model 3 to premiere in Great Britain

The European version of Tesla Model 3 will celebrate its premiere next week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Goodwood, Great Britain. So far Tesla cars have only been legally sold in the USA, with the only exception being grey market copies.

Two years ago, when the Tesla Model 3 debuted in the USA, the company has received over 300,000 pre-orders within a few hours. This number then went further up to 455,000. There is no doubt that the car will cause a similar amount of hype once again.

Tesla plans to open a factory in the EU jurisdiction to cut on shipping costs and satisfy the high market demand. The works will most likely end up located somewhere in Germany.

Buyers will be able to choose between rear and all-wheel drive and two trim levels. The base model will ship with a 50 kWh battery for 350 km driving range, accelerate 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and top out at 210 km/h. The hi-end variant will get a 75 kWh battery, make it to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and ultimately reach 250 km/h.

People say the European Tesla Model 3 will cost around €35,000, which is comparable to the current prices of the Mercedes C 160 (160 hp) and the BMW 318i (136 hp). The first batches will reach dealerships until the end of 2018.
