Tesla EVs have been known to catch fire and even explode during accidents (see the video), but the latest case is unique in that five went down in flames at once.
A car truck spontaneously caught fire on a highway in Nevada, USA. The flame spread quickly, engulfing all five vehicles on board and then spreading into the forested area nearby. Firefighters arrived very shortly after the call, but not before the cars melted down completely.
Tesla was quick to respond, blaming the truck for the alleged mechanical failure that started the fire. However, the investigation is still underway to determine the real reason behind the accident, and the authorities do not jump to conclusions just yet.
