Video: Tesla Model S’ Cheetah Stance tested for efficiency

In its latest video, YouTuber DragTimes shares with us an acceleration test done with the recently upgraded Tesla Model S. The software update introduces a new launch control mode called ‘Cheetah Stance’.

Once activated, this mode drops the adaptive air suspension height on the front axle, which might indeed help acceleration. At any rate, it also likens the Tesla to a cheetah ready to leap, winning it style points – which may have been the main idea behind the mod all along, if you ask us.

In its latest software update, the Tesla Model S Performance also gains a power boost from 789 PS (778 hp, or 580 kW) to 835 PS (823 hp, or 614 kW).

In the end, the sports car launched 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 2.41 seconds instead of the usual 2.47 s, completed a quarter-mile run in 10.54 s instead of the 10.67 from earlier, and hit the finish line going at 205.2 km/h (127.5 mph), rather than 200.7 km/h (124.7 mph).
