All is not gold that glitters, but this Caviar-tuned Model S sure is

Caviar is a company whose specialization is turning premium and luxury items into the epitome of gypsy’s wet dream, covering iPhones in pure gold and the like. Its latest work – a gold-plated Tesla Model S – breaks the mold somewhat, but hey, you can still grab two golden iPhones with it.

The car itself costs $299,000 in the United States, while the smartphones start from $6,150 for the Pro 128GB version and go all the way up to $7,830 for the Pro Max 512GB spec.

Caviar claims it picked the Model S for customization because “it is the best electric car in the world”. As one might imagine, only the 1,100-horsepower Plaid specification is accepted for conversion. Imagine zapping 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 1.9 seconds while blinding everyone around you with the glitter, right?

Gold-coated elements include bumpers, side view mirrors, door handles, wheels, side sills, the crown emblem on the hood, and the steering wheel. Only 99 units will be made in total, so those corrupt officials might want to hurry.
