A recent YouTube video depicts a drag race between a maxed-out Tesla Model S Plaid and a Nissan GT-R. The presenter fails to mention the output of this specific GT-R, and we all know the Plaid should be far ahead of it with its 1,000 hp (1,012 PS / 745 kW).
The Tesla can be seen covering a quarter of a mile in 9.711 seconds. This is better than the results we observed before, but still falls half of a second short of the manufacturer’s promised time. Even so, the electric liftback pulls ahead of the GT-R with its 10.799 seconds.
The YouTuber claims the North American EV had its battery level at 66% before the race. It also had two people inside, and still managed to go 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in mere 2.48 seconds. With the battery maxed out and only the driver inside, the sprint was 0.18 seconds faster than that.
