Tesla Model S Plaid now available with a new Track Package

The Track Package includes performance brakes and purpose-designed tires that lift the top speed of one of the world’s fastest-accelerating cars by a cool 60 km/h (37 mph).

Normally, the electronic speed limiter kicks in at 262 km/h (163 mph), but upgraded tires and brakes let owners unleash the full potential of their car and go to 322 km/h (200 mph).

The brakes included in the package have already been on sale for a year and a half. They are carbon-ceramic and feature 410mm (16-inch) rotors all around, as well as six-piston calipers at the front end and four-piston ones at the back. The tires are new, though: they are called GoodYear Supercar 3R and measure 285/35 R20 front and 305/30 R20 rear.

The entire package is estimated at $15,000–20,000, which sounds surprisingly affordable at this performance level, but the final pricing remains to be revealed. Tesla is currently offering the brake kit alone for $20,000.

The rest of the car stays stock, which is not necessarily bad for a 1,020-PS (1,006-hp / 750-kW) sedan whose three electric motors take it from zero to 97 km/h (60 mph) in around two seconds.
