Video: Timelapse of an American enthusiast building a sporty EV from scratch

Jeremy Snow has posted a video dedicated to an electric sports car he built from the ground up in his garage. Posted on YouTube on the Electric SuperCar channel, the 17-long timelapse does an excellent job summarizing the three years in the making.

Snow began by purchasing a crate kit called K-1 Attack, which included a tube-frame, front and rear suspension, lifting doors and individual cabin components. The frame he bought provided for a mid-engine layout with the engine mounted directly behind the seats. As for the cylinder block, the manufacturer specified that most four- to eight-cylinder designs were supported, as well as assorted electric motors.

Snow went with the e-motor, which he sourced from a Tesla Model S along with a rear subframe and drive components. The rest of the parts he picked based on what fit best: the list included a Jeep Cherokee radiator, a Bosch pump and a Honda Odyssey transmission selector, just to name a few.

The end result is a gorgeous roadster finished in Blue Metallic with carbon-fiber aero parts for contrast. The exact technical specifications were never mentioned.
