Unplugged Performance (UP) has brought a host of Tesla EVs to the SEMA show this year, and this Tesla Model S Plaid pursuit vehicle was one of the wildest.
Advertised as the ultimate car for chasing and apprehending criminals, the Plaid retains its stock powertrain, but that’s not an issue. With 1,033 PS (1,020 hp / 760 kW) at its disposal and a sub-2-second sprint time, it remains supremely capable of catching up with supercars. It also features a set of lightweight forged wheels and a reinforced brake system at both axles to ensure confident handling in all scenarios.
Interestingly, UP has actually put some thought into drag performance with this one. All the flashing lights are installed under the glass dome to keep the profile of the car sleek and wind resistance low. The sirens are also concealed, and the build is otherwise very light on exterior details.
We are not aware of any police departments currently interested in a car like this, but the tuner hopes that law enforcement agencies around the United States will see merit in it.
