In the bizarre video from YouTube, the U.S. electric crossover SUV goes up against a British light tank in a drag race and a tug-of-war game.
The armored vehicle is none other than the CVR (T) Scorpio, which the UK enlisted in its military forces in 1960s. Such tanks were deployed in military operations on Falkland Islands, in Bosnia and the Persian Gulf, among others. Its Jaguar-branded 4.2-liter six-cylinder pumps out 195 PS (192 hp / 143 kW) and permits a top speed of 80 km/h (50 miles per hour) on a straight highway. The maxed-out Tesla Model X produces a vastly superior 772 PS (761 hp / 568 kW) and weighs a fraction of its rival.
In the drag race that followed, the Model X predictably left the tank behind before it could even pick up the pace. The tug-of-war went not so well at first: the rope broke during the first attempt, so it was replaced with a stainless-steel cord.
For a while, it seemed like the EV would win this competition, too, but the tank driver admitted later that he was deliberately yielding to have some fun. When asked to play fair, he proceeded to win rather effortlessly.
