Tesla connects Model S and Model X to Steam game network

The infotainment systems in the top trims of the Tesla Model S and Model X now support integration with popular video game service Steam, the company has reported on its YouTube channel. All owners of the cars also get an expanded selection of lifestyle accessories, specifically an SSD drive to help your car store installed game and other data.

Elon Musk wrote that Tesla car owners could now launch Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring and many other video games ‘with an epic audio system’.

The liftback and the SUV received their latest update in early 2021, getting upgraded infotainment hardware and a 17-inch horizontal touchscreen display instead of the old tablet screen. Rear seat occupants may get their own, separate gaming system powered by an AMD GPU like the one installed in the Sony PlayStation 5.

The 1TB SSD option costs $350. The description on the website says it is compatible with all Tesla models and is designed for longevity in extreme temperatures with occasional shocks and vibrations. Pre-ordering will become available in February 2023.
