The Tesla Model X has once again managed the unthinkable when it successfully towed a car several times its own weight. The video footage of the experiment shows the ant-like SUV diligently dragging a massive trailer rig along a snowy racetrack in Norway.
Brace up for the numbers. The rig in question weighed 43. Metric. Tons. That’s a whopping 95,000 lbs. for those who’d rather prefer Imperial units. There was no kind of external assistance, either – the vehicle just wheeled along on neutral.
Our hero of the day is the Tesla Model X P90D. It weighs around 2.5 tons (5,400 lbs.) and comes with two electric engines together capable of respectable 670 hp and 950 Nm of torque.
One last bit of awesomeness is that the magnificent Tesla SUV never had to change into his winter shoes for the task – it accomplished the test with a set of Nereus tires on that didn’t even have spikes.
