A YouTube user has recently uploaded a video showing an all-electric SUV Tesla Model Х towing an immensely heavy Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on a runway of the Melbourne International Airport, Australia.
The battery car relied on its two electric engines together capable of 770 hp (574 kW) to haul the passenger airplane forward. The weight of the latter, reportedly, amounted to 126 metric tons (i.e., 139 U.S. tons) – not a walk in the park, to put it mildly.
The high-end Tesla Model X P100D has 967 Nm (713 lb·ft) of torque and a 100 kWh traction battery at its disposal. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously revealed a video showing it tugging a fully-loaded 113-tonne (124.5-ton) open-top mine cart out of a tunnel.
Tesla isn’t the only car company in the world to go in for power extreme challenges. A video revealed in 2017 showed two Porsche Cayenne taking turns towing a 285-tonne (314-ton) Airbus A380.
